In next 10 days the Bangloreans will be able to make use of 20 BanagaloreOne (B1) kiosks for bill disbursement and ticket bookings. At least that is what e-governance department is aiming for.

BDA complexes will house these kiosks. These kiosks will have three counters each and will be similar to previous B1's already existing in the city. Each centre will be spread in 2,000 sq ft air-conditioned office space. A visitor need not stand and will have the option of browsing the internet or use the ATM machine while waiting for their turns.The Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services (ECDS) will also open B1 centres in 40 places spread accross the seven CMC areas.

HubliOne and DharwadOne centres will too are expected to become operational in 2 weeks. Two more centres will be installed in phase II. The tender process for centres in Mysore, Mangalore and Belgaum is also in its final stage of approval. This information was given by M N Vidyashankar, principal secretary, e-governance and deparment of IT, BT, Science and Technology, who was also present during the inauguration of B1 centre at Indiranagar BDA complex on February 4.

Speaking on the occasion he expressed that the idea behind these kiosks is to spread the network of citizen-centric services.

Not only the centre was inaugurated by former chief secretary B K Bhattacharya, but also the service to book film tickets and bus tickets was inaugurated too. This means that the long queues will be dissipated and payments can be done conveniently.

Other Services include:

BWSSB & BESCOM: Bill payment, grievance redressal, application for new connections and statement of accounts.
BCC: Property tax payment, issue of Khata certificate and extract, issue of copies of birth and death certificates and grievance redressal.
RTO: Learner's license renewal, road tax payment, issue of B-extract for vehicles and payments against challan.
Stamps and Registration: Providing market value assistance.
Passport: Sale of application forms and new passport application registration.
CTO: Collection of KST/CST and entry tax.
Police: Fine for traffic violations.
Movie tickets: This service will be available at all B1 centres now and will be extended to new centres in the future. Theatres to be linked to B1 are: Abhinay, Santosh, Tribhuvan, Triveni, Menaka, Movie Land, Kailash, Pallavi, Innovative Multiplex, Inox Multiplex, Rex, Navarang , Parimala, Poornima, Mukunda, RadhaKrishna, Sri Venkateshwara, Vaibhav and Vijay.
