The State-Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) has
cleared 46 projects including eight IT parks and five in the aerospace
sector with a total investment potential of Rs 1,000 crore and creating
job opportunities for more than 15,000 people.
The committee under the chairmanship of Large and Medium Industries
Minister Murgesh Nirani also cleared 18 sponge iron projects with
an investment potential of Rs 592 crore, at its meeting on Saturday.
Under Karnataka Udyoga Mitra scheme projects with investments between
Rs three crore and Rs 50 crore is cleared by SLSWCC which acts as
a 'single contact point' for investors who are looking for setting
up businesses in the State.
Murgesh Nirani told reporters in Bangalore on Monday that projects
cleared include those in the IT, aerospace, energy, iron and steel
sector besides chemicals and food industries.
Aerospace projects
In all, five aerospace projects have been cleared. These include
the proposal by G L Polyurethane Processing Company at Aerospace
Industrial Area in Devanahalli for manufacture of precision machined
components, sheet metal, skin panels (Project cost Rs 30 crore)
and Priyaraj Electronics for manufacture of aerospace components
at Gollahalli in Bangalore North at a cost of Rs 45 crore.
The major IT park projects cleared include one on 9.04 acre plot
at Gollahalli by United Micro Electronics Solutions and one by DRK
Enterprises near IT park industrial area in Devanahalli (Rs 27 cr).
Other major projects include setting up of a biomass power plant
with capacity of 7.5 MW at Kuppelur hobli in Ranebennur at Haveri
(Rs 46 crore); sinter plant by VSL Steel at Hiriyur taluk, Chitradurga
(Rs 46.2 crore); Cold storage, model warehouse and industrial infrastructure
e-facility by A S Distributors at Nelamangala in Bangalore rural;
7.5 MW wind power plant at Doddanavar Brothers at Chikkodi taluk,
Belgaum (Rs 48 crore).
Bangalore Eco Park Ltd has come forward to set up an effluent treatment
plant at Dobbaspet at a cost of Rs 4.9 crore, Murgesh Nirani Nirani
said.
The highest number of projects will be coming up in Bangalore
Rural (14) followed by Bangalore Urban (9) and Tumkur (5).
More in the offing
The minister said the State High Level Clearance Committee under
the chairmanship of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will meet on
June 12 to consider and clear projects with an investment of Rs
50 crore and above.
Projects with an investment potential of more than Rs 12,000 crore
are likely to be cleared including 450 MW thermal power plants by
Delta and Katuri at Bagalkot and Bijapur respectively, he said.
