Q.
What is a VRML?
VRML stands for Virtual
Reality Modelling Language, which is used
to create an interactive 3D models and animations
for the Internet.
Q. How does
one view Virtual City walk through?
To view Virtual City, download
and install the plugin available in our site.
After downloading the plugin, you can play
the Virtual City directly from our web site
or you can download the *.exe file and play
it on your computer.
Q.
What hardware do I need to view the Virtual
City?
Running Virtual City on your
computer needs a lot of computation power,
so we highly recommend an Intel Pentium
III processor based computer for a better
experience. The minimum system configuration
you need a computer based on the Intel Pentium
166MHz processor with MMX technology. However,
the performance will differ greatly and
you will not be able to see much detail
in the texture and the frame rate will be
slow. 32 MB of RAM is required while more
RAM will improve the system performance.
Since the Virtual City is graphic intensive,
we recommend you to use a PCI or AGP 3D
graphics acceleration card to view the Virtual
City. 4-8 MB of video RAM is recommended
while the 4 MB of video RAM is minimum.
The display card should support Microsoft
DirectDraw to gain ideal performance.
Q.
What software do I need to view the Virtual
City?
To view the Virtual City, the
user needs a web browser (Either Netscape
Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer).
Also an additional software plugin for the
particular browser should be downloaded
to view the Virtual City.
An optional Microsoft DirectX
6.0 can be present in the computer. If not,
the user is required to download the Microsoft
DirectX 6.0 Driver software to gain support
on the D3D feature required by the plug-in.
This software is not a necessity. If present,
the viewing of the Virtual City will be
smoother.
For best performance, it is
recommended to upgrade to the latest video
display driver for your display card. Please
refer to your displays card manufacturer's
website or its customer support centre's
telephone number.
Q.
The Virtual City is very slow and takes
a long time to play. Why?
There are several reasons for
this problem:
Your display card may not support
3D acceleration.
There is also a possibility that your computer
does not have enough computation power (System
configuration).
Check if you have enable hardware acceleration.
From the start menu, go to Control Panel,
System and Performance. Under performance
check graphics and see if hardware acceleration
is enabled.
Q.
What is the best screen resolution for viewing
Virtual City?
It depends on the system configuration,
if your computer has a lot of computation
power, download the larger screens sized
Virtual City, if not, download the smaller
Virtual City.
Q.
Will I need to connect to the Internet to
view the Virtual City?
The option rests with the user. If the computer
has the best system requirements and a dedicated
Internet connection, the Virtual city can
be viewed online. If not, you have to download
the Virtual City files. Once done, you do
not need to connect to the Internet.
